Thyristor Protector Varistor Over-Voltage Absorption Device

Thyristor Protector Function: Mainly used for the protection of high-power thyristors, preventing damage to the thyristors caused by over-voltage or over-current in AC and DC systems. Working Principle: The thyristor protector operates using the nonlinear characteristics of varistors. When over-voltage occurs in the circuit, the varistor can quickly clamp the voltage to a relatively fixed value, thereby protecting the subsequent circuit from damage. This rapid response characteristic enables the thyristor protector to effectively handle transient overvoltage surges such as lightning strikes and voltage spikes. Main Features: Good Protection Performance: Due to the flat voltage-current characteristic curve of the zinc oxide varistor, even with significant changes in current, the voltage across it can remain relatively constant, effectively limiting over-voltage within specified ranges. Good Stability: Low temperature coefficient and low potential gradient (generally below 30V/mm), making it easy to increase thickness and enhance the stability and precision of the product. High Energy Density per Unit Volume: The varistor can withstand a larger energy density, providing higher reliability for the protector's response to over-voltage.

Zinc oxide resistors have the following features: high energy density (700–1000 J/cm³), capable of being assembled into components with rated voltages exceeding 10,000 V or energy levels up to 4,000 KJ; the varistor voltage remains stable after temperature cycling, shock, and vibration tests, with good residual voltage ratio and leakage current test performance; diverse structural forms and assembly methods, making it convenient for users to apply in various applications, easy to install, and with good moisture resistance.
